This Office is responsible for providing management oversight, policy, and guidance specific to the DOT’s $3.0 billion annual investment in technology. This work is under the direction of the Acting CIO. The Immediate Office is ultimately responsible for all work addressed here. The Immediate Office focuses on planning, organizational, performance management, and related requirements for successful management oversight and policy.
In addition to the Immediate Office the organization consists of five program areas, including:
- Resource Management
- Information Technology Policy Oversight
- Information Technology Shared Services
- Information Assurance and Privacy
- Information Technology Enterprise Projects/OST CIO
Based on requirements of the Incoming Administration there will likely need to be a much greater focus on transparency, operational efficiency, and public-facing solutions. This Office will be re-aligned to meet these new requirements.
