The CIO is responsible for providing advice and guidance on how to best use information technology resources and ensuring that the investments in technology are sound. The CIO is assisted by the Deputy CIO in carrying out this responsibility.

The Department invests more than $2.5 billion each year on information technology to help us in carrying out our mission and programs. Our investment in information technology is growing everyday as we work to create a transportation system that is safe and sustainable.
